NEW youth equipment could be on its way to Grassacres Park after the town council approved an increase in its budget for play area equipment from £3,000 to £8,000.
Described as “youth” rather than “children’s” equipment, the total cost of the equipment is £10,000-£12,000.
The town council has been offered £4,040 from the area board’s ring-fenced youth budget, which will be dealt with at the board’s October meeting.
Full details of the project will be submitted to the town council by the play areas working group at a later date.
The town council has also agreed to release the necessary funds from the skate park maintenance budget to repair the skate ramps.
