Matravers School has launched its new ‘Able, Gifted and Talented’ programme across the school.
This programme is aimed at ensuring that every student, regardless of ability, is fully challenged to fulfil their potential. Recently appointed Matravers’ headteacher Dr Riding said, “I have been amazed at the quality and quantity of gifts and talents on show at Matravers since I started, whether that is at local or national level.
“It was vitally important for us to recognise this and our newly launched programme will ensure that students are challenged to go on to be the future stars in whichever arena they excel.”
The programme has begun, with identified students being presented with their badges that they proudly wear around school.
Dr Riding commented, “It’s a pleasure to be part of a school community where it is alright to be bright, successful and achieve.”
Activities and workshops take place throughout the year and close monitoring of students take place to ensure that all students progress. The school also reports that the recent support programme to help the number of Oxbridge applications from the sixth form has been a real highlight.
