THE Avon Valley Runners are set to hold two series of 5k races for lovers of road and off road running.
The running group says, “The Westbury 5k makes a return this year, welcoming runners to complete three loops of the Westbury Trading Estate. The fast and flat and chip-timed route produces some impressive times with current records held by Harry Allen who ran 14:30 and Verity Ockenden with a time of 16:02.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to try and beat a personal best. This series will be held on three Tuesdays during the summer on 10th May, 14th June and 12th July at a cost of £12 per race. Entries can be purchased here: https://race-nation.co.uk/register/avon-valley-runners-1
“The 5×5 series in Steeple Ashton also makes a return this year, and will run on four Thursdays over the summer, where participants can run 5k for only £5 each.
“It has an out and back route along the White Horse Trail to East Town Farm and back again with beautiful views of the countryside.
“The Long Arms pub welcomes runners to refresh with them afterwards. The dates are 5th May, 2nd June, 7th July and entries can be purchased here: www.entrycentral.com/5x5Apr22
“The race directors and the AVR marshals look forward to welcoming everyone back to racing this summer.”
