STAFF from a Warminster opticians marked 30 years in business with a celebratory event on Saturday 9th February.
The team from Specsavers in Warminster invited customers and members of the local community to enjoy tea, coffee and homemade cakes to celebrate the store’s 30-year milestone.
Two members of staff, Monica Coles and Patricia Bull, were presented with flowers and long service awards, having worked at Specsavers Warminster since it opened. Meanwhile, a balloon modeller kept the children entertained with all sorts of fun.
“We had a fantastic day celebrating 30 years in business and would like to say a huge thank you to the community that helped us get here,’ says store director, Richard Goring. “Our team really got behind the event and the refreshments went down a treat. We actually ended up with so much cake that we’ve decided to take some down to the local luncheon social club for older people.’”
The store opened in 1989 with just three members of staff and two testing rooms, carrying out a handful of sight tests each week. Today they have an 18-strong team, five testing rooms and see more than 300 customers a week, as well as offering audiology services.
Monica Coles, the store manager when Specsavers in Warminster first opened and who now works part-time says, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since we opened the doors for the very first time. Although, it’s amazing to see the children who used to visit us for sight tests when we first opened, now visit us with their own families.”
To mark their anniversary year, the team are running special offers throughout the month of February. There’s still a chance to win a pair of designer frames and make the most of the special 25% discount.
