Slimming World Consultant Paula Wood has already helped transform the lives of many of the residents of Westbury and is looking forward to helping more in 2017 as she takes over as the new, permanent Consultant for the Thursday night group at Westbury Leigh School from the 5th of January.
Paula already runs two successful groups in Westbury and Trowbridge and all together her members have lost 10,663lbs in the last 12 months.
“I absolutely love what I do and can’t express what a privilege it is to see the transformation as people lose weight,” she said. “I just want to help even more people to make real changes for life – there’s no better job satisfaction than that!
“The impact of weight loss is far reaching. Not only for the individual but also their family, work, social and of course health. I have seen members overcome health problems, reduce their medication and watched their confidence bloom.
“Slimming World’s approach includes understanding the psychological and emotional issues of being overweight. It is not a quick fix approach, but rather, a lifestyle change for the long term.
“The Food Optimising Plan is based on normal, family friendly favourites. No gimmicks, just a generous, safe and healthy way to lose weight and develop life long, healthy eating habits that will ensure long term weight loss success just by making simple, healthy changes to the way we shop, cook and eat.”
Local Westbury, young mum, Chantelle Gevaux has just celebrated losing 9 stone at Paula’s Westbury Group. “I feel great. I have more energy and can keep up and play with my two young boys without feeling tired,” said Chantelle. “I’ve inspired my mum Tammy who has also now lost 4 stone. I couldn’t be prouder. Slimming World has transformed my life – both physically and emotionally. My confidence has soared.
“Filling up on lots of satisfying foods means you’re never hungry so I’ve never felt as though I was on a diet. Before I joined Slimming World I thought losing weight meant going to the gym and counting calories. But now I know it’s about making healthier choices about food and becoming a bit more active.
“I love the group. It’s brilliant to celebrate together as well because that’s how we’ve been losing weight – together. Every week we support and encourage each other and share tips and recipes, and on top of that we have a lot of fun. The support and inspiration we get from our Consultant Paula has also made a huge difference to our success”.
Paula’s groups are held at Westbury Conservative Club every Friday at 9.30am and 11.30am. From the 5th of January she will be running the Westbury Leigh Primary School Group every Thursday at 5.30pm and 7.30pm. For more information call Paula on 07718 596 853
