People in Wiltshire are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote or face not having their say in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Following the fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, the date of the next parliamentary election has been set as Thursday 7th May.
The deadline for people to register to vote in this election is Monday 20th April and the deadline for the receipt of new postal votes is 21st April.
People are able to register to vote if they are 16 or over, a British or Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of the Irish republic or another EU state.
Registering to vote only takes a few minutes and all people need to complete the process is their date of birth and National Insurance number. To register to vote people should visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. More information can be found at www.wilt shire.gov.uk/elections
