Saturday 27th July – Wiltshire and Gloucestershire League Division One – Westbury CC v Biddestone CC Match abandoned due to rain
WESTBURY entertained league leaders Biddestone in the latest Wiltshire and Gloucestershire League Division One hoping to put behind them last week’s defeat against Rockhampton.
Westbury made one change from the previous week with Richard Oakley coming in for the unavailable Rob Penfold.
Biddestone won the toss and decided to field first with bad weather in the area. Westbury made a bad start with three wickets for 40, and with wickets regularly falling, Westbury were bowled out for 94. Only McDonald (25) and Whiting (20) were able to get a grip of the Biddestone bowlers.
When Biddestone started their innings a large thunderstorm descended on the ground and put paid to any more play in the match, with Biddestone 16 for the loss of one wicket.
The umpires and captains agreed that no more play was possible and the match was abandoned.
