POPULAR pub Charlie’s Bar will be having a relaunch party this weekend to celebrate their next step as the town’s premier live music venue.

Market Place bar Charlie’s, now run by Karen Mariette, has recently had extensive work done to soundproof the venue and install a purpose-built stage and lighting rig to help give guests a complete live gig experience.

The team at Charlie’s will be having a dedicated relaunch on the afternoon of Sunday 29th March. Music will start at 4pm with an acoustic set from Westbury’s own Phil Cooper, followed by a headline performance from Billy in the Low Ground later in the evening.

There will be a free glass of champagne and nibbles for all who join in the celebrations.

Entertainment manager Doug Harvey said, “We are having a relaunch night to celebrate the completion of our new stage. Since Karen has taken over Charlie’s the venue has gone from strength to strength, and now has a great name for itself as Westbury’s number one venue for live music at the weekends.

“Over the next few months Charlie’s will be hosting some cracking acts that are on the rise and worth watching out for.  Trowbridge band The Scout Killers will be playing as part of their UK tour, and coming up after that are the fantastic Stop! Stop! If you haven’t seen these guys before at Charlie’s you are in for a real treat! Total glam rock  from fantastic showmen.

“We will also be starting live music on Sunday afternoons and evenings, with an acoustic artist playing from around 4pm and then a headline act early evening.”

Upcoming performances at Charlie’s Bar are as follows:

• Friday 27th March: The Scout Killers – original indie band from Trowbridge.

• Saturday 28th March: The Cover Junkies – energetic popular covers band from the South West.

• Sunday 29th March: Relaunch night – Billy in the Low Ground, with support from Phil Cooper.

• Friday 3rd April: Replica – high quality rock and pop covers band from the South West.

• Saturday 4th April: Big Mama & the Misfitz – A seasoned party band playing covers from everyone from Adele to the Beatles, ZZ Top, and Eric Clapton.

For more information about Charlie’s Bar of any of their upcoming shows, go to www.charlieswest bury.co.uk, find them on Facebook, or call Karen on 01373 824324.
