THERE’S an exciting line-up with something for all ages coming up at the Memorial Theatre in Frome over the next month or so.

On Saturday 16th October at 8.00 pm, the theatre welcomes Rich Hall’s Hoedown Deluxe! Ever-evolving, ever-changing, Rich’s combination of keen acerbic stand-up combined with spit and sawdust alt-country lyricism is a “win-win” (GUARDIAN), as sold out crowds across the UK have attested. Fans keep returning because this show goes where other comedians wouldn’t dare: Barrow-in-Furness for example.

Rich’s acclaimed BBC4 documentaries (most recently Rich Hall’s Red Menace) and his Radio 4 series Election Breakdown have established a whole new legion of followers. He’s also a stalwart of QI and Have I Got News For You. But seeing the Hoedown is a whole different experience. Gut-busting, rib-tickling and toe-tapping, Rich Hall’s Hoedown Deluxe covers the full anatomical spectrum.

“Vital and incredulously angry. Hilarious.” (THE SCOTSMAN)

Strictly 14 years plus – Parental Guidance, likely to be swearing and adult content. Tickets £17 now.

On Sunday 24th October at 2.30pm – 5.30pm, come and join in the SPOOKY FUN at the theatre’s Children’s Halloween Party at the Assembly Rooms (rear of the Memorial Theatre).

There will be a disco provided by PDJ Disco, lots of party dances & Best Halloween Costume Competition.  Children’s tickets are £8, adults are free. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Burger or hot dog and a party bag included in the price of their ticket.

Frome Musical Theatre Company’s award winning youth group Spellbound, will take to the stage to perform the hit musical comedy Bugsy Malone on Tuesday 26th October at 7pm; and Wednesday 27th October at 2pm and 7pm – see story on the left.

Friday 29th October doors open at 7.30 – late, That’ll Be The Day returns to celebrate its 35th anniversary! This ensemble act promises to take its audience on a rollercoaster ride through the golden age of rock n’ roll and pop.

That’ll be the Day reaches another milestone in 2021 as it celebrates its 35th anniversary!

From humble beginnings, the show has grown into a “must see” attraction all over the UK, coming up with a new production from its multi-talented cast year after year.

Unashamedly nostalgic, TBTD takes its audience on a rollercoaster ride through the ‘golden’ age of Rock and Roll and Pop.

The show has been described as ‘Relentlessly Entertaining,’ mixing brilliant vocals and superb musicianship with impersonations and hilarious comedy routines. Guaranteed a great night out, this is truly the best ‘feel good’ show on the road. You won’t be disappointed!

Visit: www.thatllbetheday.com/ Facebook: @thatll bethedayuk. Tickets £26.

Thursday 4th November at 7.30pm Paul Zerdin Hands Free is back with another puppet masterclass by popular demand.

Sam, Albert, Baby, Roger the bodyguard and an urban fox have all survived 2020 locked down with Paul….well nearly. They can’t wait to see you, so get ready to be involved. As well as his hilarious characters ‘Hands Free’ features Paul giving us a glimpse into his own world showing us what it’s like to be able to throw your voice in everyday situations where anything and everything can talk back!

Don’t miss out on your chance to see the winner of America’s Got Talent, the star of London’s Palladium Panto and without doubt one of Britain’s finest entertainers.

‘’The best ventriloquist Britain has discovered for many years…’’  The Stage

“If you think the words ‘brilliant’ and ‘ventriloquist’ have no place in the same sentence, go and see Paul Zerdin for some brutal re-education” – Evening Standard. “Technically immacu- late, it’s what he does with his slick talent that really sets him apart. His relationship with the characters has all the dramatic tension of a real life double act”  – The Guardian. Tickets are £20.

See advert on the left for details of how to book tickets.
