THE RSPCA Wiltshire Mid Branch is offering a cat neutering and microchipping service for owners that are in receipt of benefits.
The campaign has already started and will end on Friday 31st March. To apply, send a blank email to rspcacp23@gmail.com. The RSPCA will reply with a link to the online application form. You can also call 07748 468 355.
The organisers say, “Through this campaign we will help those owners who receive government benefits (excluding State Pension) and cannot afford to pay for the operation and aftercare themselves by paying a high proportion of the vet costs for them.
“Please note that applicants do have to prove that they are receiving benefits to apply for help – this is a change from our previous campaigns. Cats and kittens will be accepted for treatment from the towns of Westbury, Warminster, Melksham, Devizes and the surrounding villages.
“You can apply until Friday 31st March 2023. If your kittens are not old enough at the time to be neutered, or vets are unable to undertake the operations immediately, the vouchers will remain valid for operations carried out at any time until the end of September 2023.
“Please be aware that, depending upon which vet practice you choose, we may not be able to cover the full cost of neutering by that practice. We will advise when we acknowledge your application what payment, if any, will have to be made by you to the vet at the time of the operation(s).
“We will acknowledge your application by e-mail, or by telephone if you don’t use e-mail, within three days, and advise you of your voucher number. You will need this when you contact the vets to make an appointment. If your vet is not participating in the campaign, we will agree a suitable alternative with you.”
