THE third running of the White Horse Gallop, a five mile trail run to the top of Westbury White Horse Hill and back down again will take place on Sunday 18th November.
Starting from Leighton Recreation Centre the run heads out through Grassy Slopes, onto Wellhead Lane and then follows the bridleway up to Lafarge Quarry on the top of White Horse Hill, before heading a short way down Short River before picking up the bridleway back down the hill to the finish back at Leighton Recreation Centre. All finishers will receive a unique memento of the event.
Prizes are on offer to the fastest runners to complete the course including V40 and V50 age categories. The event is being organised by Stampede Sports and is sponsored by the White Horse News. Entry is available at £10 for club runners and £12 for unattached runners, the field is being limited to just 100 runners with entry forms available to download from www.stampedesports.co.uk. Entries will also be accepted on the day, subject to a £2 surcharge and if the 100-entry limit has not been reached.
