After a successful 2013 in which the Laverton celebrated its 140th anniversary, 2014 looks like it is going to be another great year.
With tremendous events already booked in that include ‘1001 Nights’ on 1st February with Waffa Powell, you can experience an evening of delicious Lebanese cuisine with the option of shaking your New Year’s fitness regime into action with some interactive belly dancing. Tickets are £32 each or £59 for two).
The Laverton also have the Mayor’s comedy and curry night on 22nd February. For a great price of £15, which includes food from local business Cinnamon Lounge, and comedy from great acts that include John Murfin, Rod Scarth, Phil Anthony, Jo Public and Stephen Foster.
David Lawrence, Laverton development and marketing officer said, “It has been fantastic to start 2014 taking up from where we left off last year with some great events. The ‘1001 Nights’ will be a fantastic opportunity to taste cuisine and culture from another country, and the curry and comedy night will be a great chance to be entertained by some top comedians. The fact that we can add these to our existent core bookings makes the Laverton a great community venue.
“Being able to celebrate the 140th Laverton Institute anniversary with Westbury Swimming Pool’s 125th anniversary last year proved to be a great success, and there is still a chance to get your limited edition commemorative mugs from the Laverton or the Heritage Centre.”
This stunning period community venue has an inspiring main hall with original features such as the stained glass window, and also provides other flexible and adaptable spaces that can cater for all types of events and bookings. The Laverton offers great catering facilities, and with the successful opening of its bar last year, can cater for all of your needs.
