PUPILS from Dilton Marsh Primary School sang Christmas carols outside Bath Abbey recently, and raised £200 in donations for the school.
The choir travelled to the abbey to sing as part of the Christmas Market programme in the city.
Music teacher Michelle Lawrence said, “The children got to see inside the beautiful Bath Abbey and rehearse in the choir vestry before going outside the main west doors to sing carols facing the big Christmas tree.
“We drew in a huge audience, many of whom even waited while we had a hot chocolate break so they could watch our second session! The children’s singing was absolutely stunning – it was complimented by many, many people, including the main event organiser and confirmed by the fact that in just one hour, we raised an amazing £200!
“Thank you to Mrs. Farndale and Miss Driscoll for coming with us, and to all the parents who came to Bath to support us (especially Mr. Middleton for carrying the speaker!)
“Most of all, I’d like to say a massive thank you and well done to the children in the choir – you made us all so proud!”
