WESTBURY Infant School pupils recently said goodbye to two long-term members of staff.
Peter and Sharon Mould, who have a combined 60 years of service to the school, were treated to a special assembly on their last day where they were crowned king and queen Mould in front of friends and family, as well as being presented with gifts and a memory book.
Headteacher Stacey Budge said, “As we come to the end of the term, we are saying goodbye to Mr and Mrs Mould who are leaving the school after almost 60 years of service between them.
“Mr Mould worked as a teacher in our mainstream classes for many years and then became the manager of our resource base. He was a member of the school’s senior leadership team and gave fantastic support to me as the head teacher. He also led geography across the school in recent years.
“Mrs Mould has worked for many years in the resource base as a teaching assistant, with a special expertise in speech and language and role play. She has always supported the children in her care with such passion and kindness and will have had an enormous impact on so many children with complex needs during her time at Westbury Infant School.
“Both Mr and Mrs Mould will leave a huge hole at Westbury Infant School, but we all wish them a wonderful and very well deserved retirement. We held a special assembly involving all the children, staff and some of Mr and Mrs Mould’s family and friends. We crowned them king and queen Mould and presented some lovely gifts, cards and a beautiful rainbow painting which every child in the school contributed to making.
“After a staff song, the children also sang and tissues were needed all round! We finished the assembly with a surprise confetti shower by the resource base children and staff, followed by three cheers for king and queen Mould.
“I know that Mr and Mrs Mould were so touched by the lovely heartfelt messages in their memory book, so thank you to everyone who contributed and helped us to make this such a special occasion for two such special and well-loved members of staff.”
