WESTBURY Town Council is holding a second consultation on how Becks Mill Play Area should be upgraded.
Westbury Town Council has received funding from Wiltshire Council to spend on new equipment for the Becks Mill Play Area in Westbury Leigh.
Assistant town clerk, Amanda McCann said, “We recently carried out an online public consultation for the installation of additional new play equipment in Becks Mill Play Area, using Section 106 money.
“The feedback we received from our residents was clearly in favour of this particular play area being more suited for younger children. Many felt the park location was too close to residential properties to have larger, noisier equipment and many felt it was one of the only parks offering safe toddler play, which they would like to retain.
“We have therefore asked our four suppliers to redesign their plans based on the criteria of equipment for younger children, up to around 8 years (and certainly no older than primary school age) and to include a piece of equipment that is also inclusive.
“We are very close to our deadline for the expiry date of the Section 106 money, but we would like to put these designs back out for your consultation. Please could you look at the four proposed plans on our website, www.westburytowncouncil.gov.uk, some of which do extend the play area slightly, and vote for your favourite option by sending an email to the address shown by the relevant option. You can add any comments in the body of the email. However, if you do not like any of the options, please send your comments to: amanda.mccann@westburytowncouncil.gov.uk.
“This public consultation ends on Wednesday 14th June.”
