Sharon’s Slimming World journey – no drugs, just determination!

That’s the message from local Slimming World consultant Kim Heath, who tells the story of Sharon, one of her members.

“Sharon has lost an amazing 4 stone, 1½ pounds, improved her health, and even reduced her diabetic medication – all without injections or medications,” said Kim. “Just good food, support, and a sprinkle of determination!”

Sharon’s weight-loss journey started at the Slimming World group at Leigh Park Community Centre, where she attends every Monday.

Before joining, she admits she struggled with unhealthy eating habits and lacked energy. “I felt stuck,” she says. “I wanted to change, but I didn’t know where to start.”

Walking into her first Slimming World meeting was the first step toward a new way of living. She uses the Slimming World’s Food Optimising Plan, which taught her how to enjoy her favourite meals while still losing weight.

“Before, I’d rely on convenience food and snacks, but now I love cooking fresh, healthy meals,” added Sharon. “I don’t feel like I’m on a diet – it’s just good food that the whole family enjoys!”

For Sharon, going to the group each week has been a big part of her success. “I love hearing everyone’s tips and sharing recipes – it’s so inspiring. The group’s encouragement has helped me build habits I know will stick with me for life,” she says.

Thanks to Slimming World’s Body Magic programme, Sharon is also moving more – something she never imagined before joining. “It’s a little thing, but it’s made such a big difference to how I feel,” she says.

Kim added, “We are all so proud of Sharon – she’s done amazingly well! She’s shown that with the right support, a plan that works for real life, and a group of people cheering you on, you can make incredible changes.

“Weight-loss drugs might seem like a quick fix, but they’re not the answer for everyone. Sharon is proof you don’t need injections or unpleasant side effects to reach your dream weight – just the right plan and support. Of course, if anyone does choose to take weight-loss medication, we’re here to support them too. Slimming World is all about helping people make changes that last.

“Sharon’s story shows that you don’t need drastic measures to achieve your goals – just a supportive community and a plan that works. If you’re ready to start your own journey, why not pop along to the Slimming World group at Leigh Park Community Centre? Sharon’s proof that with the right support, anything is possible!”

There are Slimming World groups in Westbury at Leigh Park Community Centre on Mondays and The Project, Eden Vale Road on Thursdays and Fridays. For more details, call Kim on 07921 805006 or Katherine on 07887 690800.
