THERE is still time to book tickets for the eagerly anticipated Shrek the Musical, performed by the Frome Musical Theatre Company.
Following a two-year break from the company’s annual spring show, the company are excited to be back with this massive show. Performances at the Frome Memorial Theatre run from Tuesday 3rd to Sunday 8th May.
The company says that this family friendly show is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages!
Based on the story and characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animation film, Shrek is the story of the swamp-dwelling ogre who, in a faraway kingdom embarks on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land.
Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fire-breathing dragon, rescues the feisty Princess Fiona, and learns that real friendship and true love aren’t only found in fairy tales. This spectacular production turns the world of fairy tales upside down in an all-singing, all-dancing, fast-paced musical comedy.
With fantastic new songs, and well-known favourite ‘I’m a Believer’, Shrek the musical brings to life the film’s cast of dysfunctional fairy tale characters as well as an incredible set of castles, woodlands, a fiery dragon, plus larger than life, vibrant costumes, it is truly enchanting.
All the beloved characters, including Shrek played by Jon O’Loughlin, Fiona by Nicole Wooldridge, Donkey by Davey Evans and Lord Farquaad by David Hynds will be brought to life from screen to the stage (pictured).
Evening performances start at 7pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and matinees at 2pm (Saturday and Sunday). Tickets are on sale from the Frome Memorial Theatre box office, open Monday to Saturday 9.30 -1pm.
