After years of yo-yo dieting, local mum of two Lisa is now happy with her size 12 figure after losing two stones with Slimming World.
She said, “One year on and I still feel fabulous. Joining a Slimming World group was the best thing I ever did! I have made some wonderful friends and really look forward to going to group each week. Everyone keeps each other motivated sharing food and recipe ideas as well as funny and often heartwarming stories about how their week has gone.”
Lisa admits that she had joined other slimming groups in the past but her ‘head wasn’t in the right place’ to maintain the weight loss. This time felt different – with her 50th birthday looming ever closer and her 25th wedding anniversary fast approaching, Lisa decided she needed to take charge and lose the weight for good.
She said, “I want to be the same size as I was when we got married and enjoy our anniversary. We have booked a Thomson cruise to Cuba and I want to look my best. It’s a far cry from our original honeymoon which was a couple of days in Torquay and I intend to enjoy every moment. I am already enjoying buying and borrowing clothes in much smaller sizes.”
Lisa urges anyone who wants to lose weight to join a Slimming World group. She said, “Its not just the weight you lose but the confidence and friendship you gain. Walking in for the first time is a bit daunting but there is honestly nothing to worry about – no-one talks about how much you weigh, just your progress during that week and you always leave feeling ready to face whatever challenges might come up.
“The food plan is easy to follow and you can eat as much ‘free food’ as you like – it’s just a simple, sustainable healthy eating plan that the whole family can enjoy.”
Lisa’s teenagers Max and Charlie are enjoying the food too. Max said, “Mum makes a lovely chicken curry and a great spaghetti bolognese.” Charlie remarked, “I love the risotto the best, and my friends love the Slimming World chicken which is just like KFC. Mum has always got her head in a recipe book or a magazine and now goes to Iceland for the Slimming World ready meals. The meatballs are great.”
Lisa goes on to say, “Life is good. I am really happy and I am healthier, fitter and lighter than I was in my 30s. I go walking regularly with my lovely dog Lilly and I am training to be a Slimming World consultant so that I can help other people achieve their dreams.”
Lisa is relaunching the Thursday evening group at Westbury Leigh Primary School in Sandalwood Road at 5.30pm and 7.30pm and would love to welcome you to her opening night on 10th March for a big Slimming World adventure. Call her on 07962 087151 or just turn up on the evening.
