HAVING taken a break last year, Dilton Marsh Carnival is back for 2016 and it’s bigger and better than ever.
The popular village event will take place on Sunday 4th September from 12-3pm on the playing field, Alan Powell Lane.
There will be plenty for all to do throughout the afternoon. There will be live music from Saxology, a barbecue run by Fairfield Farm College and a beer tent. Volunteers from Holy Trinity Church will provide tea, cakes and sandwiches to keep everyone refreshed.
There will be lots of activities to keep the children entertained. Trowbridge Active will be on hand to provide lots of fun including an assault course, gladiator jousting, milk the cow, hook a duck, face painting, giant bubbles and balloon modelling. There will also be a fairground, candyfloss and ice-creams. Grown ups can try their hand at welly wanging and can also have a go at gladiator jousting. There will be a range of stalls too including the WI, tombola and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Also this year, a design your own tray garden competition for children 11 and under. All entrants will receive a small prize and the winner will receive a very special cup.
Kathy Hutt, chair of Dilton Marsh Carnival Committee said, “We thought that it would be nice for the village residents to have something to look forward to at the end of the summer and we hope to see lots of them on the day.
“Our aim is to create a chilled afternoon for all the family to enjoy as well as an opportunity for village organisations to raise funds.
“If you would like to book a stall, or can help on the day, please contact me on 01373 301656 or 07708 351323. We do need some willing volunteers as we are a very small committee with lots to do!”
