Westbury Leigh Primary School pupils were given an opportunity to showcase their musical talents in a Music Concert, held on Thursday 22nd January.
Former pupil Rhiannon Dally opened the concert on the violin, playing the theme tune to Pirates of The Caribbean. This was followed by individuals and groups of children playing instruments and singing, performing their pieces with gusto and flair.
The music ranged from piano and grade pieces to self-composed song and covers. The concert ended with a group ensemble performance of ‘Let It Go.’
Headteacher Debbie Grimsey said, “Special thanks were given to a number of staff who had got involved and supported the event, along with our FOWLS team who provided refreshments at the beginning of the evening.
“The range of talent was extraordinary as parents and friends saw the children flourish under the spotlight. Some children had only been playing their instrument for two weeks!
“Parents were bowled over by the children’s confidence and the quality of music produced and were full of praise for this up and coming school. One parent said ‘’Thank you for putting on the Music Concert, it was a very successful event with lots of proud parents and children. We are really pleased that you give the children the opportunity to showcase their skills, whether they are beginners or experienced.”
