The White Horse Day Centre’s “Soup and Bingo” event, held on Saturday 30th June, was very well attended and was a great success, raising over £300 for the day centre.
Organisers say, “On behalf of the day centre, we would like to thank everyone who attended and who very kindly donated prizes for the raffle. We would especially like to thank our staff and volunteers who very generously gave up their time and made this event happen.
“The White Horse Day Centre is a charity local to Westbury and is for people over 65. We offer a safe and friendly place for people to get together to participate in activities such as quizzes and puzzles, gentle exercise, guest speakers, games of bingo and days out.
“We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 3pm at Grassacres Hall. We offer tea or coffee and biscuits, a three-course meal and can arrange transport from home to the hall, if resident in Westbury, for a small fare. We currently have vacancies for both days.
“The day centre is in desperate need of volunteers to help us out, so if you have some time to spare each week, then why not come along and join our happy band, we will be very happy to see you and lunch will be provided.
“Please contact Christine Mitchell on 07891 432215 for Tuesdays and Jackie Clay on 07811 990040 for Thursdays.”
