Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes, has stepped on board as sponsor of this year’s Westbury Festival.
The company, which is currently bringing new homes to the town through its Mill Brook development, says it’s looking forward to being involved for the first time.
Westbury Festival takes place every year and features an action-packed programme of music and arts over two weeks. It’s run completely by volunteers and aims to bring arts and culture to local people.
This year’s event takes place from September 21st to October 7th and Louise Ware, sales director at David Wilson Homes, says the housebuilder is looking forward to being involved in such a community-focused event.
“There’s no doubt that music and the arts unite people and we’re thrilled to help that happen as a sponsor of the 2018 Westbury Festival,” she said. “As a company that’s all about building new communities; we believe it’s important to support events that encourage people to come together and Westbury Festival is a fantastic example.”
Ward Jones, Westbury Festival sponsorship coordinator said, “The festival is a not-for-profit event and it simply wouldn’t be possible to run it without the generous support of companies like David Wilson Homes.
“We’re delighted to have the firm on board as a sponsor for the first time and look forward to working closely with its team over the coming months.”
The programme for this year’s festival offers a wide range of entertainment; from the choral echoes of the Cardiff Male Voice Choir to folk-jazz of Dr Zebo’s Wheezy Club band; from an afternoon tea dance to harpsichord music; talks about Cabot’s first voyage and Pevsner’s guide to Wiltshire; a circus workshop for children, a comedy night, a scratch Gilbert and Sullivan day, and much more.
