Step Up Pre-School’s Lis and Rachael would like to say a huge thank you to all children, parents, grandparents, and carers past and present for supporting and helping us to reach this milestone birthday.
They say, “This birthday is an extra special one because we have also re-located to the fabulous setting in Dilton Marsh. We are based in our own mobile classroom in the grounds of Dilton Marsh Primary School.
“The children now benefit from an amazing outside play area, this includes an undercover space allowing the children to access the outdoors all year round, whatever the weather. We even have our own resident squirrel, lame magpie, and a lovely little robin, who visit the children daily.”
Lis and Rachael are really pleased that Step Up now has its own permanent space, meaning that the children no longer have to tidy away their imaginative play creations at the end of every day. Children can start in the Bumblebee classroom (18 month up to 3 years) before moving up to the Dragonfly classroom (3 years up to 5 years). All children now have access to child friendly low level toilets and sinks, creating independent life skills from an early age.
“We are really enjoying working in collaboration with Dilton Marsh Primary School. A positive result of this is that the children will be able to access hot school dinners (fees applicable) after the Easter break. The children have already benefitted during our first term by kindly being invited to join the reception class, sharing their topic of people that help us and visits from the Fire Brigade, Police and Ambulance service.”
Step Up Pre-School and Dilton Marsh Pre-School were both recently graded ‘good’ by Ofsted. The newly combined Step Up Pre-School @ Dilton Marsh is aiming to build on those grades. Reports for both previous Pre-schools are still available on the Ofsted website. Step Up Pre-School also have a facebook page where parents are kept updated with information, termly topics and daily activities.
