THE Bratton Church Institute (BCI) is opening its doors to the public on Saturday 28th January from 10.30am as part of Village Halls Week – a national campaign that shines a spotlight on the contribution England’s 10,000+ village halls make to rural communities.
Joan Martin, the caretaker/booking clerk for the BCI says, “This year our lovely Bratton Church Institute is opening its doors for people to come and see what takes place during the weekdays. We are serving hearty homemade soup and roll at 12pm to 2pm, with tea, coffee, cake, and newspapers to read at your leisure in our ‘warm space’ opening at 10.30am.
“Other attractions include a raffle and name the puppy (not a real one!) We are also collecting items for the Westbury food bank that day too. In particular we need paper towels, loo rolls, laundry detergent, personal care items (especially for men). See you there!”
