Children across Westbury are being encouraged to design a festive card for the mayor’s annual competition.
The overall winner will not only see their design made into the mayor’s official Christmas card, but will also have the opportunity to switch on Westbury’s Christmas lights at the event on Saturday 6th December.
There is also a £25 gift token to be won for the top design in each of the three age categories: three to five years, six to eight years, and nine to eleven years.
“It’s one of the highlights of my year; this and the Christmas lights switch-on,” said Mayor Jane Russ.
“Because I was mayor last year, and deputy mayor the two years before, I can confidently say it is the most enormous fun looking at the wonderful pictures that the children offer.
“I’m looking for something really original and creative; something that catches your eye.
“It is really important that there is no glitter or reflective materials. If any designs have got that, we can’t use them!”
Due to printing requirements, entries must not include glitter, sequins or any raised materials, and must be no larger than A4.
To enter, drop your designs and entry forms at The Laverton, FAO Niomi Harvey, by 4.30pm on Monday 10th November.
