A TEENAGER from Westbury will be sky diving from 15,000 feet this month, to raise money for the local charity People Against Poverty.
15 year-old Katie Brittain will be travelling to Romania with her school in October to build a community farm, which will help the poorest people in the community. Katie and the other pupils have to raise as much money as they can for People Against Poverty, who will provide the building materials for the project.
Katie said, “I have decided to do a skydive shortly after my 16th birthday in August. Anyone that knows me understands my love of roller coasters and anything scary, apparently I have no fear! I wanted to combine this with my fundraising and have always wanted to do a skydive, so thought it would be perfect.
“I have decided to go for the ultimate skydive experience and will be jumping from the highest altitude possible in the UK. The 15,000ft skydive is a pulse racing freefall of up to 60 seconds and I can’t wait. My parents are funding the cost of my skydive as a present for my 16th birthday, so all the money raised will go to the charity.”
