RESIDENTS of Dilton Marsh recently breathed life back into an old telephone box by turning it into a book sharing space, called ‘The Hub’.
The aim is to provide a space for people to share information and swap books. The Hub can be found opposite the Holy Trinity Church on the high street.
The Hub had previously been set up as a ‘kindness kiosk’ for residents to share non-perishable goods over lockdown as a way to help anyone in need.
Dilton Marsh parish cllr Val Jarvis said, “The Dilton Marsh Parish Council have repainted and refurbished the interior of the telephone kiosk in the village and named it ‘The Hub’. It is now a place for posters, booklets, leaflets, books and more.
“The majority of the work was undertaken by my husband, Bill Jarvis. Judging from the response on Dilton Marsh Facebook page it has been warmly received. Painting of the exterior will hopefully take place over the summer.”
