Juggling work and childcare in the school holidays can be a real challenge, but if you run your business from home, it can be even more difficult.
Judy Heminsley, expert blogger, speaker and founder of Work from Home Wisdom, has some top tips. She recommends, “Try taking it in turns with friends to look after all your children, or send the kids to a holiday club so you have some clear time to yourself for concentration.”
But even she admits that it can all get too much sometimes – and a bit of peace and quiet is needed, away from home, to keep your work on track.
A Wiltshire Council initiative, The Enterprise Network, offers the perfect solution.
At its Enterprise Centre at Trowbridge people who work from home can use a co-working desk for just £85 a month, or even by the day, offering complete flexibility – perfect for micro businesses.
Kate Preece, co-ordinator at the White Horse Enterprise Centre said, “They can use a co-working desk any time from 8.00am – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday – and it all comes with free WiFi, high speed broadband and a storage locker.
“Co-workers can use our communal networking lounge to meet clients and other business tenants – and there’s free tea and coffee and free parking too!”
Judy added, “If it all gets too much at home and you need a break, try a few hours co-working at The Enterprise Network’s Enterprise Centre in Trowbridge. Getting away from your usual space can generate new ideas, put you in contact with new people, and move you past blocks that seemed insurmountable.”
This facility is also available at the other Enterprise Centres in Salisbury, Royal Wootton Bassett and Ludgershall. For more information contact Russell Frith on 01264 848311 or email russell.frith@wilt shire.gov.uk. www.work fromhomewisdom.com. www.theenterprisenet work.co.uk/index.php
