DESPITE poor weather, a fundraising weekend at The Duke in Bratton raised in excess of Ј2,000 for three charities over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The pub used their Beer and Cider Festival to raise funds for Help for Heroes, the Royal British Legion, and Hounds for Heroes. As well as plenty of real ales and ciders there was also musical entertainment, games, and activities.
Lyn Hobbs of The Duke said, “It went really well, particularly considering the weather! Everyone had a good laugh, and although Monday’s weather was atrocious the band in the afternoon didn’t care and carried on out in the rain!
“We’ve raised £2,100, with little bits still coming in, which we’re really pleased with.”
