WESTBURY’S micro brewer, launched in May 2014, is celebrating one of its beers going on sale in the Houses of Parliament.
The Royal Artillery at Larkhill commissioned Twisted Brewing in Westbury to produce a beer to commemorate their tri-centenary – 300 years since the Royal Artillery was formed in the British Army (1717-2017).
Twisted Brewing produced a best bitter – Fire Power – for their celebrations throughout the year helping the regiment raise £10,000 for their charity.
Local MP, Dr Andrew Murrison, met with Twisted Brewing in the Houses of Parliament on 5th September to launch the beer into Strangers Bar – a venue in the depths of the Palace of Westminster used by both Houses.
This meeting was followed up with a further meeting on the 7th September in the Houses of Parliament by the Top Team of the Royal Regiment of Artillery and their Reserves and a further meeting for the young officers to visit Arsenal Football Club who share a joint history with the Royal Artillery.
The team at Twisted Brewing even managed to get behind the bar to serve some Twisted beer to the auspicious customers from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Twisted’s brewer Andrew Murray said, “It’s a huge success to sell a beer into the venue frequented by the great and good of the Government. We are very happy, with the support of our MP, Andrew, to take Westbury beer into the heart of the Government.
“With our Forces connections, we also hope to pick up more commissions like this and provide Westbury beer far and wide.”
