THE White Horse Health Centre is trialling a new appointments system for patients who need to be seen urgently.
The health centre’s new ‘Urgent Care Team’ will manage requests for on-the-day appointments to ensure patients who need to be seen urgently do so.
All those patients will receive a call back from a doctor or nurse on the team who will discuss the patient’s concerns and symptoms. If the matter cannot be resolved over the phone, they will book an appointment to see an appropriate clinician.
Three trial days have already taken place and the next two will be on Tuesday 21st February and Wednesday 1st March, with the system being implemented fully on 6th March.
The Urgent Care Team will consist of a GP, nurse, paramedic when available, and a health care assistant.
The surgery welcomes feedback about the trials. Please contact the surgery regarding your experience. See page 14 for more details.
