Westbury Town Council and Wiltshire Police are appealing for information after the public toilets in the High Street Car Park in Westbury, were vandalised.
The incident happened between 3pm and 7pm on Friday 8th January 2021. The toilets, which were open to the public at the time, were vandalised with a paint substance. Damage was sustained to all four walls, the floor and the baby changing facilities.
A white transit van in the car park was also damaged and it is believed this happened during the same incident.
Westbury Town Council say, “Our town warden and contractor have worked hard to ensure that this facility is cleaned regularly and can remain open to the 44,000 people each year who visit our public toilets.
“This facility is essential for some residents, for example elderly residents and expectant mothers, who may find it difficult to visit the town centre if this facility was to close. Given the current pandemic, it has never been more important for residents to have access to clean hand washing facilities.”
The town council has requested a review of CCTV footage from the High Street car park cameras, but anyone with additional information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime number 54210002238.
