More volunteers are needed to help maintain Victoria Garden, the public garden next to Westbury Library.
The garden has been managed by the Friends of Victoria Garden (FVG), a small group of volunteers, since 2015. As the garden blossoms, the group is in need of more volunteers to help maintain the community space.
“We are few and the weeds are many, hence we are always in need of more help,” said volunteer Susie Atterbury.
The group is hosting a working party in the garden on Saturday 13th June from 10am until 1pm, which is open to everyone.
“Whether you know the ‘Secret Garden’ well or it will be your first-time visit, do come along to meet some of the team and learn more about the garden’s history and FVG volunteering. Everyone is welcome – do bring a picnic lunch if the weather is nice! Under-16s must come with a responsible grown up please!”
The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the group’s work in protecting nature as part of Big Green Week, which runs from 6th to 14th June.
