WESTBURY Lions Club is now sending books out to troops in Afghanistan.
From their bookshop in Warminster Road, members of the Lions Club have been selecting and packing books to send out to the troops to provide them with a means of relaxing while out on their tours of duty.
If the parcels are under a certain weight limit, the Post Office sends them free of charge, and so the Lions have been making up shoebox-sized parcels which each contain 8-9 books.
The bookshop relies on the people of Westbury who donate their old books. The Lions would also like to thank Colin Forward, owner of the book shop premises, for his continued support.
