Westbury Area Network (WAN) Trustees would like to thank all those in our local community, who have given most generously, whether it be food, financial support or their time to enable us to continue our services.
We are constantly amazed by the generosity of people, from individuals who call regularly with just a few items, to our churches, schools and local organisations, exemplified by the volume of Harvest Festival donations. Then there are those many individuals and organisations who support us with financial donations.
During 2025, we have received over £10,000 in financial donations. Anyone wishing to support us financially with a one-off donation or regular donations can find details of how to do so by going to our website www.westburyareanetwork.org.uk . Alternatively, if you would like to donate food to the foodbank, then please feel free to drop food items off at the foodbank in Eden Vale Rd, Westbury BA13 3NY. We are open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am until 11.30am for items to be dropped off. You can also continue to drop off food items at our collection points at All Saints Church, Crosspoint and Aldi in Westbury or purchase a Food parcel at Morrisons.
Our aim is always to provide support to those in greatest need and empower them to move towards a more secure financial position, in part through the foodbank provision. Our charity is dependent not only on public generosity but also upon the wonderful team of volunteers without whom we would be unable to function. We now have over 20 active volunteers, and we have been fortunate to recruit more during 2025 although more are needed. WAN was proud to be recognised by the White Horse News early in 2025 as the town’s Community Group of the Year which reflected the work of all those volunteers.
WAN not only provides a foodbank service, it also operates, on behalf of Westbury Town Council, two community fridges based at Westbury Community Project (WCP) and more recently at Leigh Park Community Campus (LPCC).
We continue to develop our ability to provide information and otherwise signpost people who use our services to other agencies who can provide various forms of support. This has involved working more closely with those agencies.
In the twelve months to December 2025 the foodbank provided a total of 1,062 food parcels.
The footfall at the WCP community fridge has increased month by month with self-reported numbers now around 300 people most months, a total of over 3,400 in the last year.
