FORMER Westbury Cement Works employees and their families are being invited to a reunion at the Westbury Conservative Club on Saturday 10th September, between 3pm and 11pm.
September of this year marks 60 years since the start of cement production at the site and former employees are seeking a get-together to “keep the spirit of Westbury Works alive.”
Organisers say, “We are arranging this get together to celebrate the birth of the iconic Westbury Works, and we hope that as many people as possible can visit during the afternoon and evening, to meet up with the former colleagues and friends and once again share stories and memories to help keep the spirit of Westbury Works alive.
“This reunion will bring the opportunity to share memories and meet people that we may not have seen or spoken to for many years. This will more than likely be the last opportunity for a reunion on this scale, which is why we are hoping to see as many people as possible.”
Organisers have asked for guests arriving by car to use car parks in Westbury, so that the limited parking at the club can be used by those with restricted mobility.
