The choir from Westbury Leigh Primary School took part in the schools concert at Matravers School, as part of Westbury Music and Arts Festival, on Thursday 9th October.
Over 15 children from the after-school choir club performed songs under the direction of Miss Nicola Clamp, including ‘Count On Me’ and ‘Let’s Dance’.
Nicola said, “The children had a wonderful time at the concert. I am extremely proud of all of the choir who performed; we only had a short amount of time to rehearse but nevertheless the children sang beautifully.”
Harvest celebration
Over the last few weeks children at Westbury Leigh C of E Primary School have been involved in celebrating Harvest. This year their theme was water.
The children were thinking about the gift of water that they have been given by God and how this has affected their lives. Some children completed water usage surveys to highlight their usage and how this could be improved
As a school, they are fundraising for the charity ‘WaterAid’ who supports others in gaining access to safe water as well as supporting them to have a sustainable life.
During their school Harvest celebration, the school displayed their collection of donations for Warminster Foodbank, who support local people in need. Mrs Helena Newbury was joined by a range of children from the school at Westbury Leigh Church on Monday 6th October. Parents of the children involved were invited to celebrate their Harvest Festival.
Mrs Newbury said, “It was great to have the support of so many parents during our Harvest celebrations; the children enjoyed performing to their parents. We would like to thank everyone who donated food and contributed to monetary donations which have all donated to WaterAid.”
