Local group Westbury Leos have continued their tradition of supporting the community by providing gifts for young people aged 11 to 19 who are facing hardship.
This year, the group donated £500 worth of gifts, sponsored by Westbury Lions Club.
“The Leos enthusiastically shopped for the gifts and were delighted to bring joy to the young people of Westbury at Christmas time,” said Lions Club president Heather Blackley.
The group also joined other volunteers from the community at the Westbury Area Network to wrap and label the gifts.
While this marked the end of their 2024 activities, Westbury Leos have already started planning their 2025 activities and are looking for new members to join the club.
“Westbury Leos are active, social and fun!” Heather added. “We welcome young people aged 12 to 18 who have the mindset to help others and develop leadership skills. Westbury Leos come together to raise funds for worthy causes in our community.”
The Leos meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm at the United Reformed Church.
