Westbury Lions Club is seeking civic-minded men and women to join them in making a difference in the community.
The club is hosting an open social skittles evening for people who are interested in joining and want to learn more about the club and its activities.
Lion President Nigel Coward said, “Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends, and become leaders in the community. The things we do as a club mean a huge amount to our members, but those things mean so much more to the people we serve. We work hard to ensure every penny we raise supports and helps develop our community.
“We want to share the great things we’re doing in the community, and let others know how they can help. By encouraging everyone to come along and learn more about what we do, I hope we can begin to establish the next generation of Lions who will continue the good reputation of our club for years to come. The Lions’ motto is ‘We Serve’, and Westbury Lions Club has lived up to it.
“For over 40 years, the club has supported local schools, charities and individuals, while also establishing regular and much loved fundraising events for the community to enjoy. Westbury Lions have an active social calendar which our partners and families can participate in, and with a growing younger membership we work hard to ensure our social activities are family friendly. We all lead busy lives, but the club provides a great channel to blow off steam after a long day at work!”
The evening will be held on Friday 26th September at the Horse & Groom Pub in Westbury. Commencing at 8.00pm, members will be available to meet and chat to interested parties and provide more information about the benefits of being part of an internationally recognized organization. Hot food will be served while everyone enjoys a game or two of skittles.
If you are interested in attending, please contact membership chairman Lion Mike Pearce, on 01373 302956, or email enquiries@westburylions.org.uk
