A MAN from Bratton is doing a gym trek challenge to run, cycle and row the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats and back again in a gym in Westbury to raise money for charity.
Paul Bryant started his challenge on 2nd January and plans to complete it within the year by cycling, jogging, and rowing a total distance of 1,824 miles. He has already completed more than 100 miles and is averaging about 20 miles per gym session three to four times a week.
Paul said, “The hardest aspect of the challenge will be when I get into it and have completed 1,000 miles but then still have another 824 to go!”
After a family member was diagnosed with a terminal illness and received care from Dorothy House, Paul decided to raise money for the charity. His initial target was £500 but he has already raised £400.
Paul explained, “I wanted to challenge myself, not do something that was too easy. Not being a regular runner or cyclist means this will be a tough task for me.”
Paul has lived in the Westbury area for 21 years and is a coach for Westbury Youth Football Club. If you would like to sponsor Paul, visit his Just Giving Page: www.justgiving.com/bryboy1965 or contact him on 07711 070775.
