MEMBERS of the Westbury Rotary club and Inner Wheel of Westbury helped out in the clean-up/litter pick around Penleigh Park, Westbury, on Saturday 26th February.
A spokesperson from Westbury Rotary said, “Ten members attended and, under the guidance of cllr Mike Sutton and cllr Pauline Stallard from Westbury Town Council, we managed to gather many bags of litter from the local area.
“There were lots of other people eager to join in with the effort and the town council’s van was soon filled with bags, to be disposed of by Mike and Pauline.”
Westbury Rotary are also planning on a further litter pick around the White Horse car park. Organisers say they will publicise the event on their website and Facebook sites nearer the day.
They say, “We have cleaned the White Horse car park area before, with astounding amounts of rubbish found – empty wine bottles being a large contributor!”
