FOURTEEN-year-old Keola White, from Westbury, has won a silver medal at the Tae Kwon Do English championships held in Worcestershire.
More than 1,200 competitors took part in the second biggest Tae Kwon Do event of the year at the Worcester Arena, competing for medals in pattern, sparring, destruction and team sparring events.
Keola said, “I really enjoyed the competition. I have been competing as much as possible. My dad signed me up to do Tae Kwon Do two years ago and I have been a lot happier since.”
Keola trains at Westbury Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain (TAGB). His instructor Rob Tucker said, “Keola has shown how his dedication and hard work at Tae Kwon Do can reap rewards by winning many tournaments. He is a credit to the art and to his family who have supported him through every step of his journey.”
At the beginning of the year Keola came first in sparring in a competition in Paignton. His next competition is in May and he is hoping to take part in the next world championships as well.
