THE Town Council will be raising the Commonwealth Flag at the War Memorial on Edward Street on Monday 14th March at 10am.
The town will join others around the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries in raising more than 850 flags to mark Commonwealth Day.
This will be the second year Westbury has taken part in the celebration.
Kamalesh Sharma, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth said, “Flying a flag for the Commonwealth is a most imaginative way for people in local communities, wherever they live, learn or work, to join others throughout the Commonwealth in a spirit of respect and understanding to celebrate the variety of unmatched diversity of our global family.”
