WESTBURY Youth Club is busy preparing for their Christmas party and is looking for sponsorship and donations from local businesses.
The club at Leigh Park Community Centre will be holding its Christmas party on Wednesday 20th December. Volunteer at the club, Beth said, “We are expecting 30-40 children on the night. There will be a disco, food and a pantomime, and parents are welcome to come along and watch the performance. We are asking local businesses if they are able to donate anything or sponsor the party.
“We have already had donations from Morrisions and Thermaglaze, but we are looking for donations of the following: arts and crafts materials to make props and the stage (any left over materials will be used weekly in the club), Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers, anything to go in a party bag or anything else that could be of use for the Christmas party. As we are a charity, we are always looking for donations.”
The club is also looking for volunteers to support the children. “We are looking for new volunteers on Wednesday nights between 5.30pm-8.30pm term-time only. All volunteers will be DSB checked and have to complete a online safeguarding course if they don’t already have it, but this will be paid for by the club.”
For more information about donating to the club’s Christmas party or to enquire about becoming a volunteer, email: westburyyouth@out look.com or visit the club at 8pm on a Wednesday.
The club is open every Wednesday during term-time from 6 – 8pm. Anyone from 11 – 18 is welcome to come along. Entry costs £1 per week.
