Wiltshire Sight are kicking off 2017 with the launch of their brand new guide that features tips for people living with sight loss. The booklet is filled with hints on everything from gardening to travel, all tailored specifically to make the lives of people with sight loss easier.
Independence is very important to those living with sight loss, so the guide has been launched to provide visually impaired people with the information they need to stay active and live life to their full potential. The Devizes-based charity supports thousands of people across Wiltshire and the aim of the guide is to get the information to as many of them as possible.
The booklet includes a variety of tips for living with sight loss, this ranges from tips on using technology to how to identify different coins by touch. The guide will also be available as audio file, there will be no charge for the booklet in print or audio format.
Leanne Hubbard, chief executive said, “Wiltshire Sight have identified that people aren’t getting the support they need. We understand the increasing pressures that are placed on the council and sight loss organisations, so we have responded to people’s needs by producing this amazing handy hints guide and increased the amount of our peer support and information sessions that we hold in local communities. We are delighted to be offering our support to those living with sight loss.”
