Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Westbury.
The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Thursday 8th October 2015, on Station Road near to Protyres.
The victim, a 27 year old man from the town, was approached by a group of males who assaulted him, causing a cut to his head. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured.
Two men from the local area have been arrested on suspicion of assault, and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Paula Manley said, “We believe this is a targeted assault on the victim. This is a busy area of Westbury and it is likely there would have been a lot of people around at the time. I am interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen or heard anything.”
Wiltshire Police are also appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision near Dilton Marsh.
The incident happened just before 10.00pm on Wednesday 7th October on the road between Brokerswood and Dilton Marsh.
A black Honda Civic was in collision with a telegraph pole and a stationary red Volvo.
The driver of the Honda, a 23 year-old local man is in Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious head injuries.
The road was closed while an investigation took place, but has now re-opened to traffic.
PC Richard Hatch said, “I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard the incident to come forward.”
