WESTBURY Town Council is seeking your views on whether a multi-use games area (MUGA) should be installed at Grassacres Park and they are holding a number of pop-up consultation events to hear your thoughts on the plans.
MUGA’s are small sports pitches that you would typically find at schools, leisure centres, local parks and sports clubs and they can be used to play a variety of different sports. The next consultation event will take place at Grassacres Park from 12.30pm to 2pm this Friday 18th August.
Westbury Town Council community ranger, David Krzyzosiak, who has been leading the project said, “We’ve had some great feedback at our first event and there seems to be a good amount of support for the plans. All the ideas shared with us with help shape the project so we are encouraging everyone to come and have a look at the plans at these pop-up consultation events.
“If people decide that this is something they may want, the next stage is to take this to the town council for approval with any alterations.”
Westbury town councillor Matthew Dean added, “I’m all in favour of the MUGA at Grassacres Park provided that we can mitigate the noise and any disturbance for local residents.”
