STAFF at Aldi in Westbury recently raised £288 for the Teenage Cancer Trust by holding a cake sale in store.
Deputy manager, Amy Mead said, “Aldi have committed to a charity partnership with the Teenage Cancer Trust for the next five years. During this time, Aldi is hoping to raise at least £5million for the charity.
“We hosted our first charity event on Sunday 28th May which was a cake sale and we raised an amazing £288. To date, including in store collection pots and online donation through our Just Giving page, we have raised a remarkable £389.13. All the cakes were homemade by myself and team members at Aldi.
“Our next event, is a ‘Guess How Many Sweets are in the Jar’ competition on Sunday 2nd July. By August we hope to have raised our target of £1,000. I personally feel that the Teenage Cancer Trust is a worthwhile charity and have great pleasure in raising money for the cause.
“Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way and having the opportunity to help a young person not to have to go through a situation like cancer alone is very rewarding. No-one should have to face cancer alone.”
