A POLE-DA-CISE event at White Horse Country Park recently raised £5,500, helping put the last piece of funding in place for a new machine at the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
Every year Pole-da-cise, the fitness studios based in Westbury, raise thousands at their annual event, but this year’s is the biggest total to date.
This year’s cabaret had a great line up of pole fitness dance acts, local singers, a belly dancer and other dance clubs from around Wiltshire.
Shelly Glass, from Pole-Da-Cise said, “Members paid to perform, donating £10 each, and some of them got sponsorships of hundreds of pounds.
“That, along with donations from businesses in Wiltshire and Bristol, helped raise the last bit of funds needed for the £83,000 3D Phantom scanner for the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, which will help the whole of the south-west.”
Alistair Cole from the charity Blobby’s Help said, “All the performers need to be congratulated for what was a brilliant and very professional show.
“We know that this sort of event does not happen without an enormous amount of hard work both on and off the stage and the days and weeks of effort were very much visible from the start to the finish of the evening.
“For us, the enjoyment of the evening would have been enough, but we have just been told that you have managed to raise over £5,500 which is a staggering amount of money and most excitingly, this will take us to the £83,000 required for the Phantom machine, so thanks to you guys we have done it, which is a brilliant feeling!”
Barclays Bank also sponsored the event with £1,500.
