REVD Holly Newton of All Saints’ Church Westbury was ordained priest by the new Bishop of Salisbury on Saturday 2nd July.

Holly was one of nine people being ordained in a moving ceremony in Salisbury Cathedral, the first since service without Covid restrictions since 2019. Many friends and family of those being ordained attended. Over 20 church members from Westbury and Dilton Marsh travelled together to support Holly in the congregation.
After the service the congregation gathered in front of the west doors of the cathedral to congratulate those who had just been ordained.
As a priest Holly is now able to take Holy Communion services, and on Sunday 3rd July Holly did just that as she celebrated her first Holy Communion at All Saints’ Church. After the service the congregation celebrated with sparkling wine and cake.
Holly will continue her ministry as team curate in Westbury and Dilton Marsh supporting the team rector, Revd Rebecca Harris and the team vicar, Revd Caroline Husband.
